A photo & a blog…
The team is transforming a "pottie pit" behind a "church sister's" home into a bathroom this week. Add one – non flushing loo among 26 people and bucket showers and you might think this week was gross. But it's not.
It's life.
It's life out of our comfort zone among people who value PEOPLE more than they do time, schedules, and expectations.
It's the chance to hold babies, watch big gringo athletes cuddle infants, play four-square with local people, worship in multiple languages, and watch a team so caring about one another that there is no room for personal agenda.
It's gross and it is great.
The grossest thing, I've encountered is my own pre-bucket shower attitude and the knowledge that so many fall asleep not knowing that someone – people and a God that they cannot see – sincerely cares for them – caring with action.
This week, there has been much caring with action.
