Van Halen is playing “Panama” on Pandora and I’m alone in the cube farm of work. It’s lunchtime. This day has been such a rich and good day already and so I am inspired to offer up somethingentirely different: good news.
My latest blogs have missed the really cool things that are on going here in beautiful Gainesville, Georgia. So here goes: a list of good news:
Cooler weather has descended into the hills of North Georgia & to the folks I love in the Kansas Breadoven…Breadbasket
Team Cambodia, Part 2 launched: they are diving into the richness of their new lives with T.C., Part 1. These 10 women are world changers-as are Melinda & Alicia who helped them to launch
Peewee, the Pirate, is still hacking hairballs and has found a new life stalking birds on our patio. Because she is blind, she cannot see the birds nor catch them. Because she is blind, she now has the freedom to spend hours outside on the patio while i read. Her world has expanded.
Getting to know folks around Adventures in Missions and Gainesville-especially while kayaking!
Revolution Church, www.iamrevolution.org: We just moved into a renovated bar and I could not be more excited! It’s been said that Revo Church is “that church that will let anybody in”. Oh Yea!
Monday morning worship-a prelude to the week and where I first heardthis song
Early Tuesday morning prayer under a ginormous tent where a few folks get real with the Almighty for what is needed in and through us. Today included surprise bagels (Thanks Daniel)!
Skype: Thank you for allowing me to see the shining faces of Madi & Kenan (Skype via Facebook)
Germans: There must be 15 Germans that live in my apartment community. It’s lovely and completely unexpected to hear this so familiar language while on the treadmill or checking mail
Sent out the first two batches of my support letter-phew
It only takes 30 minutes to completely clean my home
Found someone who was excited about Legos as I am…he had already given his wife’s nephew his old tub of Legos so this was a sweet pass along
Spent the night at my Auntie’s and Uncle’s recently: it is lovely to go there and relax-completely
I think I have the best sister in the world (I miss both of my sisters)
Heading to Callaway Gardens for the nifty new Harvest Moon Fest in October
Drove to work with Kenneth Branaugh today; he’s reading the Narnia Chronicles on cd while I drive
Heard a little voice singing amid the cube farm this morning, the marvelous Lily
This is a good day (even though I spilled quinoa over God & man today)
